About Lene Ask

Lene Ask is a illustrator and writer of graphic novels and children’s books. In her books she often uses both text and drawings. However, the story lies not only in the text and images but also in the tension that arises between them. She works with both nonfiction and fiction. She explores the variation between themes such as grief, shame and happiness. She has written books that include the history of missionary children, loss of biodiversity, and stories from World War II. The technique varies, but in recent times she has used analoge techniques such as watercolor and ink.
