49 Participating illustrators

As guest of honour at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2026, Norway is presenting 49 selected illustrators.
The exhibition showcases the high quality of illustrations created for children’s and young adult books and comics in Norway.
At the same time, we aim to highlight the great variety of artistic expressions, styles, and themes that characterise contemporary Norwegian illustration for young readers.
All illustrations included in the exhibition must have been published in a children’s or young adult book or comic released by a Norwegian publisher, preferably in the period 2015–2026. The illustrators must reside in Norway or have their artistic practice based here.

Taken together, the selection reflects the full range, diversity, and rich visual tradition that define Norwegian illustration for children and young adults.
